Are we talking like gigging with a generator loud or worse? I've seen a lot of nice game fish just stay put as we cruise over them with a generator running full tilt in our search for suckers.

I assume you are asking me.  The guides would wade out and put the spot light right on them while the fisherman drifted or swung flies to them.

I think we posted at the same time so I had not seen your post when I made that post. It was meant for Ryan and laker in regards to the fish shocking.

It was a few years back now when they shocked up the 39lber if I remember reading correctly.  If that fish is still swimming it would almost have to be a world record fish now.

As for lights all the fish I've hit with a white light will scatter or not stuck around very long.  They don't mind the red head lamps however and I've had some big ones swim right up on me in my red light...

Guides back in the day used to spot light trout on Cow Shoals so they could see when they took the fly.  Never bothered them a bit.  I watched it first hand many times.

This must be a distinct difference between the true german strain in arkansas and our sheep creek strain in missouri. You put a light on our fish and they run like hell and keep on going. I doubt that they even come back to that area for some time.

Since you say that I can kind of see that taking place. I forget you all get a natural spawn whereas you very seldom see a brown on a nest in missouri and especially at taneycomo.

That’s why you can’t fish at night there now.
