So, at scout camp,  I introduced a fellow leader to microfishing.  He enjoyed it alot.  

 

I would like some one to identify the catch in the last photo.  It was very tiny.  Location is near Eureka, MO.  Small creek at Beaumont Scout Reservation.   My guess is a salamander species.

Congrats guys! Where were you guys fishing? Looks like a great time. Looks like some species of salamander but not one that I am currently familiar. Will have to do some research.

We were at Beaumont Scout Reservation, just east of Eureka.  Close to the Meremac. Hwy I-44and Hwy 141. Fenton, maybe. There is a vey shallow creek that runs through camp.  Often dry.

I spent many scout trips at Beaumont way back when....  Great place and I've crawled all over that creek.  Is it Antire Creek?  Antire Park next door used to be a 3-wheeler and motorcycle area.  Not regulated, we used to ride there a lot.

@Daryk Campbell Sr the closest that I could come up with in Missouri is a young western slimy salamander. An adult is pictured below.

The fish look like they might be southern redbelly dace. Hard to tell from the photo.

Here is another shot.  

@snagged in outlet 3 I'm not sure of the creeks name. It may be Antire creek.  I've always just know it as "the creek at Beaumont".

Still look like southern redbelly dace to me for most of them. Did they all have the second stripe? Did that large one have a black spot on the front of its dorsal fin?

   Could you tell if your little salamander had external gills? I realize newts and salamanders are from the same group but yours looks like the tail is pretty flat.   Could be central newt. Not saying it may not be a salamander in it's larval form. Neat catch anyway you look at it!

I really did not consider looking for gills.  It was crawling around the rocks away from the bank in the bottom of the creek.    It could very well be a newt.   The tail was very perforated (for lack of a better word).

Yes,  they all had the second stripe.   I don't see a black spot on the dorsal fin.  

 

Except this little guy.
