toby and i went after "em last night.  it was typical second day after a front.  sky was cleared out, and really had to work for your supper so to speak.  i caught two keeps on a 3/4 GrassJig, two on a 1/2 GrassJig inserted into a 4" tube, 3 on the 1 oz.  big wobbler, and 3 on a 1 oz. Black Widow.

did you notice that i actually can catch them in the daylight??    some of these daytime bass like to be stuck right to the base of the trees in the 30 ft. range.

something that was going through my mind is from the chart someone posted on my last post, and it had the o2 levels and the various depth.  the 20 to 25 ft. range seems to be a bad area for any bass to be feeding in, but have been catching several in that depth of water.  have caught some in that 30 ft. range which is where that chart indicates where you should be catching them.  in fact according to that chart, the o2 levels are not really good at all.  something to ponder.

That was me that posted the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) and Temp Profile. Here is the profile again. I also took it one step farther and made graphs of the data because it is easier to interpret that way (in my mind). In the graphs, depth of water increase as you move from top to bottom and DO or Temp increase as you move left to right.  For example, the lowest DO readings begin at 37 ft and extends to 60 ft. But back to the important info!! DO is greater than 3 ppm all the way to 30 ft which is good for black bass. After that, DO declines to levels that could stress bass if they stayed for long periods of time. DO then begins to increase over 3 ppm at 90 ft; however the temperature and lack of forage likely doesn't make that depth very appeasing to black bass, in my opinion.

i was looking at the wrong numbers for the depth.  now that makes sense of the depth that most bites are occurring.

no to say the least.  this a really good chart for everyone to take in.  it will certainly help anyone to better understand what the bass could be doing right now.  most are definitely hanging around in the most comfortable water, but there is ample o2 supply to feed all the way to the surface.  it also answers why all the bait comes to the surface at night.

as i have said many times, catching any fish consistently is a very mental game.  it is much more than just fishing spots and hopping around from point to point.  the fish have to react to what is going on in their environment.  food and ample o2 are right at the top of their list.

Hey Bo, I just ordered a bunch of your Big Wobbler's to try out when we're down week after next.  I've been paying close attention to the "where" you've been fishing them but wondered if there were any insider trading tips on "how" to best fish them?

Do you primarily fish them like a jig staying close to the bottom or more of a swimming technique for suspended fish or just experiment until the fish give it away?
