Flyfished a public pond in town Saturday evening.
Caught bluegills, crappies, and bass.

Flyfished Sunday afternoon.  Fished 4 other public ponds.
Caught bass, crappies, and bluegills again.
Caught my PB Bluegill (10.5", on the left in the picture) at one pond, and a really nice 9.5" bluegill (on the right in the picture) at a 2nd pond.

Jay fished the last 2 ponds with me, and took a picture of me with the biggest bluegill.

Now here's the weird thing....I looked at the times when the big bass and the big bluegill pictures were taken.  I took the first picture of the bass at 4:33pm on Saturday.  Jay took my picture with the big bluegill at exactly 4:33pm on Sunday.  WHAT????????

@FishnDave Found this old post - Nice slab bluegill and toad of a largemouth! Hard to put down the spin tackle and throwing similar baits, but these make me want to dust of the long rod.

I sure enjoy it.

2019 was a crazy year for big bass on flies in Iowa for me.  Haven't seen anything like it down here yet.  They've gotta be around, right?

What a difference a year makes, and that this is now 2020.  And 2020 is doing its thing.  Here's where I moved from...Ankeny, Iowa.  My daughter sent me this picture from her apartment window today, October 19, 2020.  My buddy tells me they have 4" of snow on the ground at the moment: (sorry about the rotated picture).

Right after I posted that, my buddy said it was coming down at a rate of 5" PER HOUR...and that they then had 6" on the ground.  By the time I wrote him back about that, he said they now have 7"+ on the ground!  Crazy!

He says its slowing down now.  The news weathermen are calling it a "freak snow squall".

Same area got hit with that derecho this summer that blew a lotta big trees over, broke branches, and leveled thousands of acres of crops.  2020.
