agreed seems unlikely, why would you drag a deer that hasn't been field dressed? Seems it would be much easier to field dress it first. I suppose maybe he believes that leaving a gut pile where he hunts will spook other deer!

400 deer in the entire state of Missouri. It is because of REGULATED hunting that our numbers are so good.

Now, in your area around Laurie ... I don't know how much hunting pressure there is. I know that a lot of deer probably go unhunted around LOZ. I have a place that we go to on the 34 mile marker (Laurie side of the lake). I see a ton of deer every time and doubt many people hunt those lake deer, but I could be wrong. I know Truman gets a lot of pressure.

Unregulated hunting would have horrible consequences.

Regulated deer hunting has led to populations exceeding the carrying limits of the land.  They are supplemented by farming and people feeding them for sport and pity.  The population is due for a crash, disease is pretty rampant.   And the damage caused by bumper damage is really too much.  Insurance companies recover losses from a group of people they insure.  And, people die from deer coming thru windshields or avoiding them.  Much like the otters, sometimes things work too good.

Funny story today around the camp while skinning a buck out.  I made Dad reminisce about the time when there was no deer.  Grandpa killed the first deer he ever saw.  It was out of season and Grandpa took it just to have fresh meat to eat.  That would have been back in the 40's.

So I will admit to not having read all 8 pages, and I meant to bring this up when we talked the other day Mitch.  So the story is the cat was following the blood trail, and maybe someone else mentioned it, but only an idiot would drag a deer backwards.  In the first picture the deer is facing towards the cat so the person dragging the deer either turned the deer around or is said idiot.

I would call BS on the incident but looks like a very large bobcat.

Poacher was found in Ky with a bobcat in freezer, fresh deer outside, and one in his bedroom running around.

If you sleep with a doe then your odds of getting a close shot on a buck probably improves noticably.

Well, that's not completely true.  There's a creek running through my place and 80% of the time the deer are on the wrong side of it when they get shot.

So I drag em to the creek, then tie onto em with a rope and use the tractor to drag em across and out of the creek.

Then I put em in the loader bucket and take em to the barn where they get a hose bath before I gut em.

But I get your point.  lol

Well I mean, you either leave the gut pile in the woods, or you take it home....stuff it in a bucket...and haul it back to the woods like a retard.  

The quicker you open up that cavity and start allowing things to cool off, the better.  I can do it in about 5 minutes and only get my knife and hands bloody.  But you'll see dudes at the checking stations hop out of their truck looking like Carrie on prom night.  🙄
