You are absolutely correct. However people are not born knowing how to perform CNC machining or even stick welding. The quickest way to learn those things is school. That is why the Eureka Springs schools maintain a building trades and supports a high school program at a multi district location. That gives the students a head start. However, the choices are not school or no school. The choice is what kind of school.

They weren't born knowing it, but somewhere along the line it was figured out before "classes" were ever formed.

Education didn't begin in schools, people tend to overlook that little tidbit.  The smarts came first.

Apparently I said something, and it had to have been to someone other than YOU, and you took offense to it....and never got over it.      

You really should, and yeah I wish you would.   I think you're a good guy/awesome fisherman and it would be cool if we could cut up and have fun rather than having you in the shadows stewing your Wrench Hate soup all the time.   But it's cool, I'll keep throwing spices in it every chance I get. 😉

I've got my masters degree, can MIG/TIG/Stick weld, overhauled the small block chevy in my first car, and have performed all the maintenance on every vehicle I've ever owned.  I can tell you honestly that I would rather earn my living doing something I like than doing all that to earn a few bucks.  Your generation made ALL kinds of mistakes, but I don't see you guys complaining about the way you guys were acting in the 70's.

A trade school Is not the same as college.
