oneshot Posted December 26, 2019 Author Posted December 26, 2019 I’ve seen Tornado wrap steel I Beams around trees. What I always found interesting is after a Tornado was in the area was all the Mail Boxes were open. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 After my place got hit we found deep cycle batteries 250 yards away. And that was just a F2. How/why it picked up batteries and moved them that far.....but only blew my canoe (which was right next to the battery rack) only 50 feet, is a mystery. Lots of weird stuff that you can't explain can be found in tornado wreckage. Lots of the typical "bits of grass blown completely through siding boards" and stuff like that. Crazy stuff that could be considered a "miracle" if you didn't know that a twister had come through there.

A tornado will take a house just as easily as it will a trailer, and it's alot quicker and easier to collect the insurance and just roll in a new one. It took over 8 months to rebuild a stupid house. And after only 12 years it was already due for new siding and a new deck, then the heat pump swallowed it's @$$. Would have been way better off buying a manufactured home. I talked to an agent about my manufactured home and asked why its so high compared to built homes. Her response was that tornados like to target them over built homes. My response to the stupid answer "Really, a wind created by opposing temperature forces has a mind that can target a specific style of abode over another with precision?". Then I got that stupid blank look. The reality of the matter is like car insurance. A class of people that tend to live beyond their means will use insurance as a source of income and file more claims. And they prey on that statistic with higher rates. MOPanfisher Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I worked in Florida after a hurricane, in an area that had a lot of manufactured homes basically double wides. Nearly all were totalled because they were sprung at the centar seam, marriage wall they called it. Regular homes seem to take some damage but we're repairable. Also trailers usually have a much thinner wall and don't take the abuse well. But an F5 tornado don't care, the only place safe was underground. Cars blown against a chain like fence like tumbleweeds, cars in homes that the homeowner had no clue whose they were, tires with splintered 2x4's driven through both sides, giant oak trees simply went missing, entire houses gone but a couch and big screen TV still there, strange happenings. 6 blocks away people were back to mowing their grass the next day. fishinwrench 1

This is true, but nothing is more gross to me than an old house that has had 5-9 different families living in it since it was built, and has been "remodeled" a dozen times. Burn that old pile of kindling down, eradicate all of its ghosts, and put up something fresh for crying out loud! 😂 I walk through an old Victorian house and wonder how many women have been bred in THIS room? 😱 Might as well be a whorehouse. How many arguments, fights, and tears have fallen here? Yuck! Tear that crap down, don't just slap yet another coat of paint on it.
MOPanfisher Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I agree on old hkuses. I have worked on several helping remodle them, you can drop a lot of money into it and still have an old house. Demolish, rebuild correctly with proper isolation etc. Never worried about any old ghosts or frisky old ladies.
oneshot Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 I don’t have to worry. All the houses I’ve lived in are gone even my school and places I have worked. Dad one time said he heated with wood for years. Other people move in and burn the place down. oneshot

So now, after 40 years restoring, I should just tear my 1830's house down cause it's OLD. What do I do with the 40 pieces of period furniture, set them on the street and head to Furniture Factory Outlet. My clock arrived at the Jewelry Store in Tipton, MO at the turn of the century by train, still keeps perfect time; throw it out and get a Timex, cause it's old. Should I call the art museum in Forrest Park and tell them to throw out all the George Caleb Bingham painting's as they are the same age as my home. I appreciate the hand craftsmanship in the doors and mill work in my home as well as the work of famous artists from Missouri and as a craftsman yourself, I'm surprised you don't. The same family lived here from 1835 until 1976 and a lot of breeding as they had 13 children. Sorry to disagree on this one but your dead wrong. CM Quillback and snagged in outlet 3 2
oneshot Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 Had a Guy tear down a house because he didn’t want anything reminding him of me. He mowed my wife’s Flower Bed in front of her just to hurt her 😭 oneshot
