Have you ever noticed you go to the Doctor for anything even a Hang Nail. They will say you have to change your diet.

Then they say no Coffee, no Alcohol and no Spicy Foods?

LOL you look at them and say you’re kidding?

Then they look at you and say no.

Well Doc I’m going to die.

Funny back when I was smoking they never said a word.

It really depends on what you are going to the Dr for.  Would have to be a General Practitioner or Gastric guy.  They would be the only ones worried about what goes in your guts.

They really don't have to say anything about smoking, its pretty well common knowledge it is dangerous for your health.  The warnings are all over the packages and millions spent in advertising the fact each year.

One of my oncologists was giving me that speech, should only eat red meat maybe once a week, my wife laughed out loud and I quit listening after that.  My regular Drs mention it occasionally but don't harp on it, they are a bit chubby too!

I was told once if it tasted good spit it out because I’m not to eat it.

My whole family smoked, drank and many other things.

I didn’t smoke until I went in the service at 17. That was your reward for doing stuff.

So go with moderation.

After chemo when the Dr. Was telling all the things I wasn't supposed to do for 6 months he ended it with, if you enjoy doing it, you probably shouldn't be doing it till the end of the restriction period.  I mostly followed the advice, toward the end well I opted to do a few of them because somethings just needed to be done and there wasn't anybody else to do them, and it was a very small "up yours" to the Dr.  My wife wasn't amused.

Ah I use to do a bit much. 3 pots of Coffee, fifth of Jack, 3 packs of Cigarettes and lid of SKOAL every day.

Coon A ancestry I eat plenty spicy.

Was told one time not to do anything for a year. Went with my Son on hunting trip in the mountains. I was just supposed to show him around and take care of camp. Got a Hernia out of the deal.

Lots of it now has to do with Throat trouble and now Bladder control.

Dang, I feel like a loser now.  I couldn't do a fifth of jack in a week, or any skoal.

I live in a retirement community, see a lot of old people and fish with a few of them, at 62 I'm still considered to be a "young feller".

You hardly ever see old fat guys out on the lake, old skinny guys, yes.  I want to fish for as long as I can, and to do so, I need to lose some weight.  Being old and fat is not good, yeah you might still live a long life, but it's tough to get out and do things.  In short, quality of life will probably be better as you age if you keep yourself in reasonable shape.

Sitting around, or goofing off without doing anything strenuous will take you downhill fast.  On days that I don't do anything productive I always do some push-ups, sit-ups, and swing some dumbells around a bit.  If I don't I will start going soft fast.

Love riding my bicycle but I'm tired of all my trails around here, need to find, or make, some new ones.  Nothing clears out my lungs and makes me feel better than a 3-6 mile bike ride.  All of this holiday food consumption isn't helping me a bit.

Very true.  After chemo and the transplant I wasn't allowed to do anything outdoors for the 6 months, talk about a drop in energy and ability to do stuff.  Occasionally I go back to the weight bench for a month or two, but something always happens and I miss a day and poof it's a month before I think of it again.  Daily chemo.pill still zaps the stamina but as long as I am not in a hurry I can do fairly well on "field trips".
