On days that I don't do anything productive I always do some push-ups, sit-ups, and swing some dumbells around a bit. If I don't I will start going soft fast. Love riding my bicycle but I'm tired of all my trails around here, need to find, or make, some new ones. Nothing clears out my lungs and makes me feel better than a 3-6 mile bike ride. All of this holiday food consumption isn't helping me a bit. Right now I’m waiting to go have some procedure done because I’m in major pain because I’m supposed to work on my Shoulder but I do stuff it aggravates. Was working out in the pool but I no longer have Bladder control. I wanted to blow leaves my wife said no. I wanted to go to the Range my wife said no because of recoil. Normally I would be Cutting Firewood, Hunting, Fishing and going to the Gym. My Heart Rate, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol are all good. oneshot

At least in the summer you get to see some... Never mind. Plus one @Quillback. Same as golf. Thin to win! Daryk Campbell Sr, Quillback and fishinwrench 3

Mitch f Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 My blood pressure was up to about 138 over 93 or so. My doc suggested I try the Mediterranean diet. It is basically fish, olive oil based foods, legumes, veggies, etc. but no red meat. I tried it (and not very strict) for a month and saw a dramatic decrease in my BP. You hardly ever see old fat guys out on the lake, old skinny guys, yes. I want to fish for as long as I can, and to do so, I need to lose some weight. Being old and fat is not good, yeah you might still live a long life, but it's tough to get out and do things. In short, quality of life will probably be better as you age if you keep yourself in reasonable shape. This is a solid observation. My grandmother lived in a retirement home and I recall seeing very few if any overweight people. If you are overweight, you can expect your doctor to tell you to lay off the high calorie foods, their job is to make you live longer and being overweight does not make you live longer. In general, what you eat is less important than how much of it you eat, its just that some foods are almost impossible to overeat, whereas others are very easy. Its pretty easy to get 2000 calories a day eating red meats, and processed carbs. On the other hand, 2000 calories of fruits and vegetables would fill up a bucket. I am no pinnacle of health lol, but I want to live as long as I can while still being able to do the things I enjoy. Quillback and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Wow! I don't know whether i find this to be awesome, or horrifying. I guess the Jack and the coffee helped to cancel each other out. Jerry Rapp 1
oneshot Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 I was also told years ago I shouldn't be able to walk. I started using a Wheelchair and my wife insisted I learn to walk. I did many other Bad things for my Health when I was younger including over working. oneshot
