Hidden cucumbers. How in the world did we miss some. thumbnail_0711200755_HDR.jpg

Now i decided to take an official measurement instead of guessing. Tallest one 7 foot 5 inches from tub dirt. Crazy and plants are loaded. There are a couple rows we cannot walk through. Going to crawl in between and reach up to pick. Had first BLT for breakfast this morning.

Too much time on your hands.  Go fishing and quit wasting your time in the garden.....

The first batch of cucumbers has come and gone. The second planting is at the third leaves stage. Tomatoes have set by the many dozens, but the first harvest was today,

We have cucumbers that are huge, but white as a sheet.   Do you leave them to ripen on the vine....or pluck them and take them indoors ?

They are ripe, pick them. Depends on the brand, most have white in them.  Some are all green.

Out looking over the garden last night. When I get to the 4th bed there's a big commotion inside. Startled me a bit. Seems waskley wabbit was in there dining. When I approached he went berserk bouncing off the inside of the fence trying to get out. He couldn't remember where the hole was he chewed. Finally found it and bolted out and under a gap in the wooden fence.

Just too dang hot here at the house for any tomatoes to be ripening during the day. Even if they are, it's at a snail's pace..

That's the reason I'm using the Bonide 544 sprays to help with that. Stuff really works.

I did buy a bottle of Bonide Blossom Set and am giving it a shot. Try to avoid chemicals as much as I can, but this seemed to be a natural growth hormone so I suppose it's kinda ok.

Me too but I have a couple plants with shield bugs on them(stink bugs). I have knocked them off and stomped, squished between my fingers and other non chemical means. Now i have resorted to going ape crap on them with the seven spray. My fault partially for having crowded plants. Limited space :( .

My chard is getting eaten badly by something, so I've hit it with Sevin a couple times. Need to get fungicide on maters and beans too.

Despite the high temps and no rain things are growing great!  Up everyday at 5:30 in the garden by 6. Water, prune ,train ,and spray and done by 9.

Tomatoes are really putting on the weight now and they seem to be having another growth spurt. Some of the lowest hanging fruit is almost finished. Belgiums are so slow to ripen. 85-95 days.
