Most of these were planted from seed on March 16. Belgiums are much bigger than I ever imagined after just 18 days.

The 2 square containers are Mortgage Lifter and Boxcar Willie took about ten days for seed to germinate.

The round one in the center, cocktail tomatoes, about 6 days germination..

Everything in a red cup is Belgium Pink.

This new LED light is really nice!  A 36W  4' light bar.About the same length as the tub 😄

Any recommendation on hydropinics and lights... may build a cold frame after moving but till then its the basement.... Just thinking out loud for next year

No Pics but woke up to 22 deg today and 1.5 inches of snow...good thing only a few of the Onion sets (160 red - 120 ish yellow sweet , 130 garlic and 100+ sets of red and yellow taters) were still under the mulch/compost..Still worried about the next couple days.. getting dwn to 22 or there abouts each night... Should be ok..I hope.. Plan to plant seed this weekend, but may wait till is a but warmer on average

22 and snow, I would hold off on seeds for a while outside.  Cold crops will germinate with 40-50 degree temps.  Beans and corn slightly warmer.  Cucumber, squash, and others like that need even warmer.  Okra is best to start late, it needs really warm to germinate.

My cold frame went crazy in the last few days, lettuce and radishes suddenly big enough to pick at, gonna be a little wilted salad very soon.  Stopped at WM on way back from KC and saw a beautiful BIG red beefsteak tomato plant, it is now mine, needs trimmed back a little bit, but in a few more days it can go into ninth final home (mineral tub) and begin it's summer work.  Strawberries and looking great, have one that is blooming, have covered it the last few days, but soon there will be more, not sure how many bags of sugar or boxes of sure-gel wife has stashed but it's several!.  Gotta get a few containers set and ready before next week so wife can do gardening.

I used to use cfl, now just led. Recently got a 4' 36watt light bar. Works fine for starting seedlings. Never tried hydroponics.   Will be glad to move what tomatoes  I have outside and leave it there. There's no room in the tub to start my jalapenos and bells!

Fertilized the 10x10 strawberry patch last week. It's rained a couple times since. Blooms all over the place! Everbearing variety. Winters very well with just a few hand fulls of leaf mulch tossed on top before the first frost comes. The leaves some will turn kinda  purpleish but they handle the cold quite well.,no blooms of course during Winter. I don't mess with them after mulching until the following Spring..that's when I take a broom and gently sweep away some of the leaf mulch.  They have really greened up in the last ten days. This is the 3rd Spring for this patch.

Woke up today to find 10 of the 11 Belgium I sowed last week had sprouted. The 2 boxcars , nothing yet.

My tomatoes I planted outside early look miserable. They ain't gonna make it, will probably be stunted IF they survive, probably just pull them up  because of the way they look 2/3 dead. Just had too many too early and needed somewhere to put them so I took a chance and they basically croaked from the cold weather and transplant stress.

Onions are growing good! Trying to grow one from cutting the base off a onion and rooting it.

On a positive note the remaining transplants are thriving in their new half gallon containers sitting outside today 👍

Planted snap pea, radish and Swiss chard seeds over the weekend. It's been cold and we may even get a dusting of snow tonight. Continued cool for a few days. My maters are not liking being confined to the basement in their leetle cells.
