I call that the spousal wall.... honoring my spouse! This sort of stuff hurts her heart😢

dead animals on the wall are hard for her...I Get it!!!!

dont mind shielding her heart! And she’s cool with the man cave 8 hrs away 😍

BTW - Three deer 🦌 heads (first ever archery harvest - N.J.), first Indiana whitetail (from farm). And. The Hoss in the middle...Archery culmination (14 yds, long bow, on the ground. could feel his hoofs hit the ground, coming over the hill as he chased his primal instincts to the record books and my wall to honor those beautiful creatures.) Third time was a charm.... 191 2/8 B&C, P&Y, Iowa State Record book... Double Drop.... probably broke 4-inches or more when in late velvet, when the antlers are more like chalk consistency..... image.jpg

Beautiful buck; I love the bow as well and have come full circle this year by accepting my bum joints and getting a crossbow - that was actually a hard call for me.  I just have difficulty drawing and holding my Mathews any more although I have not parted with it.  All my stands are hang on or climber and I had to learn a whole new system of set up, stand movements, and shot stabilization which wasn’t nearly as easy as many assume.  My wife is not a great fan my mounts either but they keep sneaking closer and closer to where I think they belong after initially being banished to the stairwell years ago😉.  Sometimes progress is slow.

the pains of getting older are hard to ignore.... I’m right there with you brother!....I gave up the compound in 2006. Focused on the quick draw, quick shot... less physiological stress! Seemed less of a stress in shoulder.......- posterior dislocation that was a very catastrophic event.. still get the willies when I recall the event😖.. (be glad to trade war wounds with ya some time 😜)

I wanna retire there!   Nice!

That’s my plan! Just gotta convince the wife... She wants Colorado.....so.....I’ll go there, but it has to be within spitting distance of the Arkansas river. If we go to Colorado,  I’ll likely make this a rental....a MC&CYOBB
