Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 19, 2020 Root Admin Posted March 19, 2020 At 5 p.m. today the Corps will go from 5 to 10 gates open 1 foot each. The release rate will change from 15,000 to 20,000 c.f.s.. With the rains ending about 5 p.m., this increase will add to the already high levels at the Branson Landing and Rockaway Beach. It will eventually drop out during the night tonight. I expect more increases tomorrow as both Beaver Lake and Table Rock Lake rise. The Corps already said flows could go as high as 30,000 c.f.s. before this event is over.
Members Jeff Polys Posted March 19, 2020 Members Posted March 19, 2020 Yikes. Alot of rain in a short period of time. Is it worth fishing or should we wait it out? Coming in tonight. Hope the lake drops. Tonight and we can fish tomorrow. We have several boats. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 20, 2020 Author Root Admin Posted March 20, 2020 No it will not go down, less release. There's actually a good chance they will release more. The area received 4-6 inches of rain. That's a lot for one basin to handle. Tons of shad still coming over the dam but the trout are stuffed and not biting as well. We caught 6 nice rainbows this evening on white jigs. Need more time to figure it out.
Members cracklebak Posted March 20, 2020 Members Posted March 20, 2020 Today, Bull Shoals cut their release down significantly (near minimum flow, lowest in months) I'm assuming due to the Newport Gauge. I'm interested to see how this pans out given the additional releases upstream. snagged in outlet 3 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 20, 2020 Author Root Admin Posted March 20, 2020 My phone is down... got wet doing One Cast last evening. It's my life blood to seeing what's going on but with a little work I've found Beaver has topped their flood pool level at 1130.1 feet and it's releasing 11,000 cfs of water. Table Rock is at 921.1 feet and is releasing 20,000 cfs. It is rising .1 feet per hour - I think they may increase our flow and that will put my dock off limits. cracklebak, WoundedOne and Johnsfolly 1 2

We went out to Rourke creek and did okay. Caught a few right at the mouth. Saturday a group of our guys were fishing the same area and a older couple was using the trail. They striked up a conversation and they suggested they group go up into Rourke creek and fish right above the bridge. I guess this was a total hot spot and very nice of that couple to share their knowledge. They said the water was clear and the fish were just everywhere, of course they group did not share that information with me until last night. 😥 I fished Saturday from the college of the Ozarks to the power lines. I did okay, but my uncle got skunked with this 6lb crappie high visibility line and minnows. We usually have fun fishing from the docks for suckers, but dock fishing was non existent. Great time as always and a nice escape from everything going on in the world. Thanks for all of the tips and be safe. Daryk Campbell Sr, snagged in outlet 3, tho1mas and 1 other 4
