ness Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Good idea on the mulch. I wouldn’t put weed barrier in the beds—those roots can use the soil beneath. Would put weed barrier under the mulch. Unless the mulch is already down. Then I wouldn’t bother 😄 John

I have some chicken manure and Peat Moss to mix in once it dries out here.

jdmidwest Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Sweet corn goes in early, sprouts easy and does not really need alot of heat to germinate. wily 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
N9BOW Posted April 5, 2020 Author Posted April 5, 2020 First lawn mowing of the year done. Raked up all the crap the willow dropped from the ice storms this winter! Got the raised beds finished, corn and zucchini patch tilled 4 times. Still needs lots more. Im a bit late on the seed starts of beefsteak and Roma tomatoes and sweet banana peppers. Think I’ll be fine. Should be plantings most other thing by next weekend. May plant the onion sets and red and white taters tonight or tomorrow. Also planning on tilling a squash/ pumpkin/ watermelon patch. Might get that going tonight too... time for a cocktail first though! wily, tho1mas and BilletHead 3
