How not to pull your boat out of the river...

I watched a guy sink his truck many years ago in Truman Lake.  Lived in St. Charles at the time.  One day on the way to work in St.Louis I saw that same truck with a window sticker that read: "I survived Truman Lake".  Remember it like yesterday.  Guy was standing on top of his sunk truck hollering "Get somebody!  Get somebody!"

Do I let my wife see one more reason I don't need a Boat?

That was me in my buddies Dad's Ranger about 30 years ago.  We ran out of beer and was heading back to town for more.  He did not hook the front of the boat up and was dragging me half on the trailer across that parking lot with the skeg dragging before he saw me waving.  But he had sense enough to stop and winch me on.

Drove on home later that night and kept hearing something over the tunes we were playing, it was the transom saver dragging along the highway.

That was a good ole boat.  We used her like a jet before we had jets, just use the power trim thru the shoals.

Gotta give the guy credit, he finally worked the trailer back under the boat.....

Anybody else ever see somebody launch a boat still tied to trailer?  As in transom and bow?  That was a sight.  Sorry Mitch but it was a chinaman.

You ever have somebody pull out next to you on a wide ramp, and it gives you the illusion that you're still moving backwards.....even though you're stomping on the brake with both feet? 

I hate that !

Not really.

Funny one time was too drunk to fish so I was laying in back of my Pickup. Looked up at the Stares thinking they are sure moving fast as my Pickup rolled into Lamine River.

I hate that !  

Funny pulled to the side of the road sleeping with your 4 ways on. Wake up and stomp the brake. Good thing I was by myself.
