Overall, we caught a break. I hope people won't be too disappointed that it did not require catastrophic releases to prevent over topping the dams.

Earlier,  it looked like Norfork was releasing water from spillways rather than running in thru the turbines ? The trout might like the cooler water in the mix.

Did some quick math......20,000 cfs is about 40,000 Acre-ft per day.

Bull shoals is 2,127,000 Acre-ft of flood storage and Table Rock is 760,000 Acre-ft.

53 days to empty BS and 19 days to empty TRL. Lots of days assuming no additional rainfall and all inflows stopped today.

They've stopped releases at TR and Beaver.  I don't think BS is going to come up much.

If this is what the gulf states have in the summer, I never want to visit.  Its like 110 % humidity and 25 mph winds.  Air so thick you can cut with a knife.

Their last sentence mentions "monitoring the downstream gauges".  The level at Newport is rising,  but with dry weather in the long term forecast, we should see it start to drop once they stop full generation at Bull.

I'd like to hear more from Steve.  I respect his insight, esp being on that side of the WR region.

As for me, I think they need to revisit the Power Pool levels.

The Corps is playing russian roulette with business, lives and property below these dams, seeing the "trend" is now more and more wet seasons.  If it is a true trend that is predictable - and they have predicted this wet year way back last year - then why not adjust those levels?  And so what if they're off... low lake levels?  What does that hurt?

I understand pre releasing water before the storm hits.  That's not my beef.  It's where the lakes are way before this starts... on that January date.
