Most of cries about "defunding" is not about truly de-funding any police, although there are those who absolutely would defund and or close down police forces.  If a city were to defund and close their police force, essentially the law enforcement duties would have to be covered by the County Sheriff's dept., they are gonna be looking for additional funding and adding officers to their force to make up the need for staff to cover.  Guess where the $ would have to come from, the, city being protected, so it would simply mean a moving of the funding from city control to county control and most likely if it is a city of any size it will not get as good of coverage as was being provided by a city police force.  Same money spent (or maybe more) and less service provided, the old "do less with more" mentality.  There should be a LOT more attention paid to pruning out those individuals who simply shouldn't be cops, but like any group when slammed by everyone they are going to band together to protect themselves, good and bad, right or wrong.

They been doing this for decades, it's how they got to this mess. "Birds of a feather flock together" would indicate that by now there  are either no "bad cops" or there are no "good cops'' because the sure as shooting hang together.

And that mentality is partly the fault of people like me who tend to defend LE across the board and have enabled that attitude, but it has to change or Change will be shoved down their throats in a manner they will not like.  It is simply a fact that it cannot continue lie it is without change, preferable from wirhin, but if not then from the outside.  If they are smart the LE unions etc will begin to implement some sort of community review board that makes reccomendations and or does minor investigations and either refers it to he Internal Affairs or whatever dept is in place to handle it.  Many departments have a community review board but I have no idea exactly what they actually do or if they have any refrral capability.

What defunding SHOULD do is cause these departments to look at the scope of their efforts and say "Well, we can't enforce all of these laws, so we must now spend our time on the laws that are most important".    So rather than burn up all their resources making arrests that do nothing but help feed lawyers and create mountains of useless paperwork.......maybe they'll spend their time making arrests that ACTUALLY do help their communities become safer.

Not likely.  The shortage or trucks is very high.  Go ahead and try to book a legal load for advertised rates and see what you actually book them for.  I have over 30 loads leaving this week alone.

Dude, there's no shortage of trucks.   A good friends sister has a trucking company in Wisconsin and she struggles to keep all their trucks loaded and moving down the highway.

If you're having a hard time finding a company to move a load I can probably help you out.

If one of her driver's says "Oh no, I won't drive THERE because that area defunded their police dept."... then I guarantee she (after laughing and spitting coffee on her monitor) will simply call another driver that gladly will.

I would think that have any credibility they would have to lobby the states to pull the license from any cop that gets suspended, historically they fire a cop in a town or county and he/she/it goes straight to the next town or county and is back on the street armed the next week. They won't do that though because the union is there to protect it's members and every single bad cop in the country belongs to the union. The good cops can't or won't buck the union protection of the bad guys, so to any outside observer they all look bad.

How will you react when half those drivers decide to dolly your load down someplace because they don't like the town you have to ship to?

Then she needs to get to work selling.  We have over 150 trucking companies we contract with plus our trucks and our own trucking division.  We are courted heavily since we ship up to 40 loads per day just out of the mill plus whatever goes out of our fab shop.  And we have been doing that for over 10 years.  Our logistics manager needs a warehouse for all the gifts he gets at Christmas.

I'm strictly talking flat bed, heavy haul.  I don't know anything about shipping toilet paper or your pizza rolls....😂

Agreed. We have the same problem. I called one of our shipping managers yesterday to find out why we only got 3 skids of product instead of the 9 they were shipping to one store. And it was because they only had room for 3 on all the shipping companies they use and the rest shipped later.
