Bill Jr. Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 I went to the BPS in St. Charles yesterday and I was amazed on how bare the shelves were at least in the fishing section. Some isles looked like the grocery store toilet paper isles in March and April! I wished I had taken some pictures as it was crazy empty. They said it was supplier issues 🤔 not sure I believe that, but just wondering if other stores are like the one in St. Charles
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Academy and Walmart are looking pretty bare too
tjm Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 I think anything coming in from Asia is being held up and tackle making in the USA wouldn't be classed as essential when states shut down so sure the supply chain is broken. But when thirty zillion people suddenly have the summer off from work then you have to guess sales have been higher than normal too.

Lots of manufacturing really has been shut down during the Covid. And it's not just meat packing plants. snagged in outlet 3 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 I took my truck for service. Lot was half empty. Curtesy shuttle driver said they only have 1/3 normal inventory. Terrierman 1
Dutch Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 I have a rain check that is a couple of months old on a life jacket.
Bill Jr. Posted June 26, 2020 Author Posted June 26, 2020 well at least it is not just this location that is having the shortages. I have been ordering more from tacklewarehouse.com bc I've been using more Keitechs and BPS doesn't carry them so I don't go in as much anymore. Which leads me to another point that TW.com orders with free shipping are delayed 2 weeks due to the increased volume and reduced staff. (Order placed 6/20 would ship 7/6). I had to cancel my order @ TW.com bc I needed it for the 4th, and placed an order Tuesday night with discounttackle.com and got it today with free shipping! Plus they are cheaper there. 👍 Just wondering if anyone has used them before. snagged in outlet 3 1

Each time I have argued with the CS rep when trying to find or cancel my order. I get and understand delays and reduced staff/hours ect. but in both of my cases when I reached out they explained that it was effectively a manual hold and it wasn't even being released to be picked for 2 weeks. To me that isn't delays due to volume or reduced staff/hours. If that was the case it would be released right away and picked when they got time to do it. The second order was released, picked, and shipped from this "manual hold" within 2 days after the date they said it would. Looks like the delay is all due to they're system.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 I ordered from TW a couple weeks ago and it only took 3 days for me to get my order, i guess I got lucky snagged in outlet 3 1
jdmidwest Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Made my run today after work. Found ammo for the new rifle, neds, new rod and reel for Grandson, and steaks for the grill. But, shelves are bare in spots. Stuff flying off shelves as fast as they can stock it. Economy is great, consumers flush with cash and retail is up sky high. Restaurants, theaters, and certain others suffering. Try finding a new TV, fridge, or freezer. Lumber going sky high and building material shortages along with gardening supplies.
