I am in the market for some new trout reels. I mainly throw jigs and small crankbaits. What reels have you guys been the most pleased with?

Pflueger.  Will NEVER own another Shimano anything.  Ever.

Shimbindo lost me as a customer decades ago. They had years to fix a known problem and chose not to.
I will not buy another.

I have used Pflueger President 6925 for years. They are the best bang for the buck IMO. Last year I splurged and bought a Shimano Stradic FL and that thing is SWEET! It’s my first Shimano so I am not sure what the binding deal is. This one is by far the smoothest spinning reel I have ever owned.

They had a problem for YEARS with reels binding when reeling in when they got wet.  And did nothing but deny it for a long long time.

Pflugers I've dropped in rivers, creeks, lakes, sand, mud. It's like the ak47 or Glock of reels. Very hard to break in my opinion.

Ive had really good luck with my pflueger trion reels, i have a size 25, 30, and 35 and they all are great. I bought a Pflueger president once that i thought ran rough so i returned it bit I'm convinced I just had an unlucky experience because everyone else I hear from loves them.

A tip I learned from @fishinwrench is to make sure to match the reel size to your rod length. If you have a 7' rod or longer you may want a 30 size or larger to balance it out weight wise.

I have a mix of quantum energies,  quantum smoke, and pflueger presidents.

Shop around on Ebay.   I got my last quantum smoke for $80.  It's usually around $159.

You can sometimes snag last year models too for cheap.  Also a great place to get extra spools and rebuild kits.
