I’ve been there many times.  My best friend was from there and we went all the time since we could stay with his parents for free.   I had my own wing of the house.  No kidding.  
My wife and I had to cancel our April trip this year.   I love it there.

Yes I have family there. Most time get a place of our own.

My kids hated it. Fish and Rice all the time. LOL

I always thought St. Louis was that way.  When I moved into the dorm at college, I had the top bunk.  My room mate from St. Louis used to tap the bong on the rail of my bed to wake me up.

Skipped Nawlins this year, but on the list for next year! Usually stay at the Hotel Monteleone. Any town can be party town...Just gotta have the right connections!

I spent 6 week in NO area after Katrina, loved the area, interesting mixture of  great friendly folks and slugs, but much of the world is that way.  Took me a little bit to get used to every woman calling me sweetie, darling, baby or honey.  Many guys just called you cuz, and would talk about hunting or fishing until you literally walked away.

When I was single we would spend 10 days leading up to Fat Tuesday every year.   Play golf and go red fishing during the day and party all night.  And eat like stinking KINGS!!!
