MoCarp Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Most savvy carpers would not chum corn straight out of the bag, a good boil with a touch of flavor is the ticket and deep enough to be out of arrow range.....that being said, no law keeps you off that spot, yet common courtesy says not to intrude...probably fixing a spot to take kids....you might find it harder to land Mr Carp than you think MONKEYS? what monkeys?

There's a lake north of me that we would bait in the morning with corn and go back in the evening. Caught hundreds and the kids loved it. Spinning rod with 1/4 ounce bullet weight above a swivel, leader material to a scud hook and green giant corn. Don't set your rod down or it will be gone...😁 Gavin and Terrierman 2
oneshot 1 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I usually chum more than one spot when out in a Boat. If fishing from the bank, chum and fish about an hour later. Usually sour my Corn or Wheat. Was fishing one time Catfish were full of Corn and it wasn't me chumming. oneshot snagged in outlet 3 1

I have had to make more than one long dive to grab a rod butt. They can take it very soft and gentle or grab it like it's the last cheeseburger at a weight watchers convention.
MoCarp Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 A good bait runner reel ( or quick drag)and bite alarm makes fishing less worrisome MONKEYS? what monkeys?
oneshot 1 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 My Ex lost Rod and Reel into a lake because of a Carp. Fished it out and cleaned it up. Next time to the Lake another Carp pulled it in. Fish it back out reeled in a 5 pound Carp. oneshot
