garyw Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 With the lakes being so rough, is the lead acid battery an ok choice for my tin boat? they're buried under the rod locker in the bottom of the boat. not much air down there. would it be safer with an AGM? a real rookie question I'm sure. thanks
fishinwrench Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 What year is the boat? Was there anything but lead acid batteries available when the boat was new?
garyw Posted August 21, 2020 Author Posted August 21, 2020 boats new the dealer put lead acid in it. fish hunter brand being a dumb i let it set most of the winter without being plugged in.bat woun't take a charge now
Dutch Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 It would definitely be cleaner with the agm. I switched to them to avoid spills. I don’t ever plan to go back.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 If the Battery is pretty new, Take it to Ellis battery. They sell and warranty the Fish Hunter Batteries. Ive ran those for a while
top_dollar Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 As long as Ive owned a boat its been a tin boat with lead acid batteries. They will be just fine on TR or anywhere else in Missouri. Ive always bought cheap walmart batteries, and replaced them every year or two.
