With the lakes being so rough, is the lead acid battery an ok choice for my tin boat?  they're buried under the rod locker in the bottom of the boat. not much air down there. would it be safer with an AGM?

a real rookie question I'm sure.

thanks

It would definitely be cleaner with the agm.  I switched to them to avoid spills.  I don’t ever plan to go back.

As long as Ive owned a boat its been a tin boat with lead acid batteries.  They will be just fine on TR or anywhere else in Missouri.  Ive always bought cheap walmart batteries, and replaced them every year or two.

If you are putting it on a trolling motor reserve capacity is what you should be looking at.
