CAs and river access typically come under the Forestry Division and like I said they took down all pit/vault toilets in this area years ago, at the accesses the woods are full of it with t-shirts etc.  used as wipes and left behind. Some folks must be scairt of the woods because there are piles left in the edge of the gravel too, I assume they used a car as shelter/blind?

Back when they took down the vault toilet at Cowskin, I asked the Forester and was told he had no employees qualified/designated to maintain them and the public had complained about their condition.  If there is no toilet there is no cleaning problem.  The inebriated swimmers just use the creek? It's serious problem that will get worse as more people use the outdoors.

Somebody start  one of them digital petitions that we can all sign. If a state agency provides a parking place they must put in toilets- sure and then they will take out the parking lots. Ask for or demand a toilet at every ramp?- sure thing,  no more ramps.

I totally agree this is a bad deal!

I ran upon one of my own today. I have been using this ramp for many, many years. It is on Truman lake.   I remember when this lake was put in and this ramp had a dumpster, dawn to dusk light and a nice restroom. Back then there was one for the men and women. Soon the dumpster disappeared. I kind of understood that as it was very abused. Then light and restroom vanished. So this brought toilet paper and crap in the surrounding brush and timber. Not only toilet paper but anything that could be used to wipe the rear and some of that did not disintegrate.  A few years back  another unisex pit toilet was installed. A nice one of you could call a pit toilet nice. Concrete and it even had a urinal so the seat did not get trashed. Concrete walkway to the thing from the asphalt.   I decide to run up the river this morning.  Right in front of the truck it is gone. All of it. Area worked over and wheat straw on the place. This is a very, very busy ramp. When crappie, white bass and snagging is hot the ramp is over flowed with rigs and even spread out on the highway. I a couple times could not find a place to park safe and turned back home. i called a friend who said it was there a month ago. There is already messes of crap all around the place where I parked this morning.  When I left there were five other rigs in the lot and it is the time of the year when fishing can be crappy no pun intended! So to our corps liaison @MOPanfisher   What the heck is going on?  Can you tell us what you know? There is no other ramp in this area with facilities for people to use. One by 20 river miles but with a pit toilet but it is on a conservation area ramp. For all I know it could be gone too/

This place will soon be a nasty mess of a place :( .

What ramp is it?  Truman is outside my area, but I can ask a few questions.

Thank you for checking on this .  It is the 82 highway boat ramp on the Sac river. Just upstream from the Sac and Osage confluence. On Truman lake proper. Lake boundary is five or so miles above the ramp.

OK I know that one well.  I don't think it is a COE maintained one though.

            Hummm,

Wonder who does than? No name like it is attached to a specific wildlife area? Suppose I could check with the Eldorado Springs MDC office.

OK I know that one well.  I don't think it is a COE maintained one though.  I was looking through MDC accesses and didn't see it listed as theirs.  I am thinking that it used to MDC, but they may possibly have given it up, removed their "stuff" and walked away, making it an orphan, unless some other organization or private entity has taken it over.    But I am not at all sure of that.
