Mitch f Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 They are having “Key West” style boat races the same weekend as the semi annual Big Bass Bash....can you say Cluster ____? https://www.lakeexpo.com/boating/the_lake/a-mini-key-west-new-boat-race-coming-to-lake-of-the-ozarks-oct-2/article_a1835c5c-e5cd-11ea-9f49-b7a4da4d1742.html?utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR1sGpTOpJwSezze7wwcQgm52I48s71paIQNXfxktPffFWfIS6-MN-D0Mm4 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 They actually had that regatta permit BEFORE the BBB permit was applied for. As of June 20 there was no confirmation that there would be a fall BBB. Mitch f and snagged in outlet 3 1 1
Mitch f Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 I just see bad things happening unless they lay down some serious rules "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
jdmidwest Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Sounds like a big cluster pluck. Mitch f 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Somebody that's somebody threw a tantrum with the MSWP and they have altered the time of the race. They have no control of the "spectators" however, which is where the problem lies. I don't believe it was the highly professional RACERS that had anyone concerned. What these powerboat races do, and I see this every time they have one, is they get everyone hyped up to bury the throttle on whatever they are driving. For a week prior to, and after the SHOOTOUT, everyone will be haulingass everywhere they go. Monkey go fast? Baboon go fast too! I don't profess to be any different. After watching a bit of that, and listening to those engines roar.....I'll admit that I get the desire to heat up some pistons and feel some wind myself. 😎 Unless the water is really rough, overtaking and staying in front of a scarab in a modern bassboat, so you don't have to eat his wake, is no problem at all. 😁 Bushbeater and Blazerman 2

They always did a double take. Then I would mash the throttle and just run off and leave them. Bushbeater, Blazerman and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
jdmidwest Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Wonder what the guy in the blue shirt was doing with his hands on that ride, they were below the waist. Driver was shaved for better aerodynamics. What happened to the kayaker they hit??? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

If you watch the driver (I refuse to call him Captain) he keeps tapping the port trim tab to level the ride. He taps about 3 times too many....the boat leaves the water, and when it comes back down that trim tab does what trim tabs are supposed to do. Bottom line: Baldy is a SOBER idiot and was lucky he didn't kill everyone onboard. I'd rather ride with a drunk that knew how to drive that boat.
