A fellow recently caught the new MO state record Striped Sucker down there, yeah?

He caught that striped sucker in Duck Creek CA which is northeast of Mingo. I'm  sure that they are in Mingo as well. Saw and lost lots of gar there. Looked like long nose mostly. State record spotted gar was caught in St Francis River back 2019.

I’d like to get long nose and spotted Gar this year. There’s still time.

Check the regs, some areas are closed during upcoming waterfowl migration.  Duck Creek Main Pool closes soon or is already closed.

Stanley Creek open I think, but not sure.  The wilderness, paddle in area has crappie and bass along with all of the usual swamp fishes.  Interesting area.  Been kind of dry lately in the area, water may be low.  I have not been on the area fishing for about 12 years.

I will be sure to check regs and read all signage. I’m just there for oddball stuff. I don’t want any hassles with duck hunters.

There are waterfowl restrictions at Mingo. Teal is open now, ends on the 27th I think. S/B clear of shotgun fire between then and Early November.
