Gavin Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Remington is going down the tubes. Sad really. Bennelli or a Franchi, or a Berretta if you want a gas gun. Terrierman 1
MOPanfisher Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Wish you was closer, though I really don't know what my 11-87 is worth.
ness Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Remington split up and sold. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-09-28/remington-auctioned-off-to-seven-bidders-in-bankruptcy-court John

I have an M-1 super 90. It's probably 20 years old now if not more. It has never failed me. Bought it to replace an 11-87 with intermittent problems that Remington could not cure after two tries. I've always liked Remington shotguns, but that one's hiccups just made me get a different brand for duck hunting. Can't go wrong with a Benelli if you ask me. Gavin 1

MOPanfisher Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 1100s were notorious for turning into single shots if dirty, or not properly lubed etc. Many competition shooters used to spray the tube down with.lubricant before a mat h and run them wet. I had a little 100 special field that was great until I quit cleaning it, then a quick cleaning and good again.
Gavin Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Had a Remington 1100, it was a fine gun. First shotgun I ever bought around 1982. Gotta keep em clean, and have a couple extra o-rings just in case. Terrierman 1
jdmidwest Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I have always been partial to the Winchesters. My first was a 1400 20 gauge and it run like a champ with any 2 3/4 loads. That was all it would chamber. I had a few others and bought a Super X2 that handles all well from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 loads. Pretty clean running gas system and it runs dry. My buddy watched my gun for years. He went from an 1100 to a Beretta. The Beretta would freeze up in the blind while mine kept chuggin. Ended up with a Super X3 and never had any issues. When I really want to shoot and take a little pain, I have my Russian Baikail 12ga Over and Under Skeet with Modified Improved Briley choke tubes. Took 3 mallards with 2 shots one day, best shot ever. Killed a few turkeys too.
