oneshot Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 I have been all over California back in the ‘80’s their talking about places burning I am really surprised. oneshot
Dutch Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 I’m not. 2 years ago the whole area we drove through looked like a giant brush pile.
oneshot 1 Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Use to be the Vinards were pretty clean. There was a bush growed out there that felt real oily, once it got dry it was like gas. Some places were just impossible to get to. Use to like being up on the Mountains looking at L.A. Have set in L.A. Palm Trees, snow coming off the Mountains. Weird! oneshot
fishinwrench Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Yep, exploding bushes too. Trump told us about those.

Terrierman Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 I fought wildfires in 1971 when is was at Pendleton. Santa Ana winds. It was a long time ago but even then, it was quite a deal. No laughing matter. Gavin 1
Gavin Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 My Sister’s farm is in Ione, CA. About an hour SE of Sacramento. No big fires in her area thankfully. They have prepared for a fire. All of the eucalyptus trees are gone, and they don’t tolerate scrub brush. Only a couple hundred acre hobby farm. Few trees, so the cattle have pole barns for shade by the water tanks.
fishinwrench Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 My wife's aunt/uncle had a home in Oregon. The smoke got so bad that they had to leave. Hopped in their RV and headed for Nebraska. 2 days later they got the call. It's gone. All they have for now is what they took with them. snagged in outlet 3 and Terrierman 2
