Seth Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Nice deer! Been slow for us today. What kind of setup are you shooting?
Dutch Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 That’s not me. I don’t hunt deer any more. I don’t like the meat. I assume it is his 308 but I am not sure.
Terrierman Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 I do like the meat and killed a young doe this morning.😎 Gavin, BilletHead, Quillback and 1 other 4
Terrierman Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 My neighbor's son in law shot a six point in the neck this morning at an honest 450+ yards. I need to step it off. Remington 700 heavy barrel .308 with target stock and a big danged Zeiss scope. His wife and mother in law watched it happen out the back window of their house. They had texted him to look for the deer. Man what a shot. I don't think it was an accident either. They said the deer dropped and never even moved a hoof. Seeing where it was hit, I believe it.
Seth Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 We ended up seeing 5. Only three were shootable, but passed as they were young. Wussed out this morning since winds were gusting to 50mph. Will head back out about 2. Hopefully I still have a blind when I arrive! Johnsfolly and Terrierman 2

I've only shot one deer in the neck. A young 8 pt that I wasn't going to shoot at first. As he started to leave the predator kicked in. The shot was only 35 to 40 yards but through a basketball size opening in the brush. Dropped like a stone. I ended up bringing back my pregnant wife the mile or so back to help cart him out. Was Livie's first drag out of a deer. Not sure she remembers it 🤔.
