Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with renting out boats through apps like GetMyBoat in the Lake of the Ozarks area? I have heard good things about this elsewhere but cannot for the life of me find any local information about it. Anything helps...

Cheers

Boat rentals are available on most. If you want to learn fishing electronics, I would take several guide trips to do just that. Young kids will just want a pontoon and a tube you can drag them around  on. Older ones will want a PWC.

Houseboats, Pontoons, PWC's and a few Bayliner runabouts are about all that's available for renting here on Lake O.

As far as I know.

Yes it seems limited. Do you think there is an opportunity to rent my boat or offer my boat for charter though this sort of application (with proper licensing and insurance, of course)?

You don't want to do that.   There's a really good reason why there aren't more boats for rent around here.

What is it?

I did repairs on the boats rented from Adventure, when they were in business, and still do repairs on the Coconut's fleet of tri-toons.   There's no money to be made in renting boats.   It's just a side gig to get people to hang out at your place and spend money on other stuff.

Sending people out on this lake during "the season" who aren't seasoned boat operators is a guaranteed bad move.  Things are gonna get torn up and people are gonna either get hurt, lost, killed or scared to the point that they'll never come back.
