@FishnDave awesome catches! Gives me hope that I might be able to catch some myself the end of May.

I hope you get into them!

The buff was luck..caught blind casting.  The goldeye..I had a couple others on that I didn't land.  Saw quite a few dart to the surface and back down, but couldn't get them to strike.  I KNOW they are there!

Dave I have caught a half dozen buffalo on the fly. All blind casting looking for other species. I have tried sight fishing for them on shoals but only one thing on their minds then.

Very interesting!  My experience has been just the opposite, almost all of mine have been sight-fished, and they are typically NOT very willing to cooperate.  If muskies are a fish of 10,000 casts, Smallmouth Buffalo cooperate about once  every 30 muskies. 😅

I did get 9 more Freshwater Drum on the fly this weekend, too.

55) Flier,

It's possible that I caught a Flier as a child and just that it was a funny looking crappie, but I have for sure caught one now. on a fly rod no less. And then 15 minutes later, lightening struck again.

These were Arkansas fish. About 1/2 the drive time required to get to Mingo Swamp.
