I do use the oars on occasion. Mostly when by myself, or with the Queen of my Castle up front. You gotta back paddle, back row, and set your course well ahead or Reynolds Wrap will get more high quality aluminum.

It depends on how it is set up. I have a 1832 Blazer paddle john with a foot control bow mount and transom mount trolling motors, and no one plays "guide". I'm looking for good fishing buddies-worth their weight in gold.  Friends are a dime a dozen.

how much does the 1832 weigh?

a 20ft boat would be great, but would get tight in some smaller rivers/creeks and be too much for two people to carry

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

I have my boat set up with a transom mounted TM and a pedastal seat just in front on the front bench. the client has a great perch there to fish from. My only rule is they can't stand because I'm already standing and 2 standing leads to trouble. With the TM I can hover in the current and by standing I have the best view of rock structure. No problelms with this guide getting plenty of shots at fish.

The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check

Welcome to the forum. I own the 17' Landau paddle jon you probably saw on google search (Bought it from a forum member in Springfield). I don't use it much for family floats. You have to tow it, and I tow a travel trailer on most family trips. It's great boat for two people to cover allot of water on an overnight to 3 day down river float. Its rated for 6hp, but I use a a 55lb thrust trolling motor. Very stable, pretty light for its size....120lbs or so Dimensions are 17'x47" with a 32" bottom. Rake at both ends, and a raised transom in the back. Blazer and Lowe used a plate instead of the raised transom. Really comfy when you put the swivel seats in. I put some NRS oar towers & locks on it and it will row like a drift boat (but my 7.5' oars take up a ton of space), even have a rowing seat for it. Good duck boat too.

Sweet rig!!! 😉 too bad it’s just sitting out there all frozen like that. I have covered storage that would be a nice home for that lol

Free storage  with easy access would be a plus Scott, but I've seen how you store your SeaArk! Did you have 3 garage sales to uncover it?😃 No complaints from the neighbors yet, but the PJ needs to get pushed out back to the boat yard.

Try one before you buy one, but the old ones like @curtisce and I have are hard to come by. Most never escape the Gasconade/Big Piney area. In the 63119 if you want to go for a spin if it gets warm enough.

Do you have any room left in that boat yard?  😂

Not really here in St Louis County but, I just bought a piece of land on the Big that has a very nice open pole barn that could accommodate 4.   22 ft boats lol

Gavin beat me to the draw on that Landau and I have been jealous as hell ever since.

my SeaArk ran up and down the Lower Meramec this Fall Gavin. Gonna start taking it to Bull Shoals and Table Rock more often or sell to this catfish dude who wants it bad???

I have a spot at TR for it.  I'll need the keys an all though....😀
