Members JimDog Posted March 19, 2021 Members Posted March 19, 2021 Against my better judgement, going to head down to Bennett after work this evening and plan on fishing all day tomorrow. Water is high and muddy. Any advice for fishing these conditions? Would prefer to stick with my fly rod, but I am not opposed to breaking out the spinning rod if necessary. I've only fished Bennett a couple of times before, and never when the water is up and colored like it is now.
fishinwrench Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Find the fastest water areas, and then Bow & Arrow cast a #10 wooly bugger or Leech into the little bathtub sized eddy's along the banks. laker67 and tjm 2
tjm Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I don't know Bennett, but typically in high or discolored water I like a bigger fly and a darker fly. easier for the fish to hear it or see it. And it often needs to be heavy to reach the bottom before it's zipped away downstream.

Multi color one I bet would work. Use the ones tied on a jig head and hang a SJ worm off it. Let us know how you do, ok?? @liphunterjust loves pictures...
Flyfisher for men Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Over the years, I've heard this said repeatedly when water is high at Bennett: "People are standing where they should be fishing." I'd definitely work the banks and anywhere the current is reduced.
