I haven't had much luck with it.  As a welder, I always hated trying to repair something someone tried that stuff on. 

I am sure it has it's use.

I was not able to run that stuff very well, if at all.

The melting point of the rod is really close to that of aluminum. Pretty easy to blow a big hole in your work piece.
