If anyone has just the foot pedal to a Garmin t-motor...one to barter, borrow, or buy, please let me know.  Mine is out and 4 or more weeks to get replaced due to shipping issues with stock.

Just trying all options to not switch out motors now.

Thanks

You can buy they new from a lot of different sites. Russel Marine probably has them and they are very fast to ship. I literally ordered a motor and got it in less than 24hrs from them once

Are you waiting on yours from a certain place because your warranty?

I run mine from the fob. You probably could do that until the pedal comes in.

What is not working on it?

Ours just quit on the speed control. remote still will change the speed but Garmin has my order and says it will be a month till new pedal is shipped.

The foot pedal will not steer.  Garmin took care of me, but due to shipping and supply issues it is 6 weeks to get me one.  I can't blame them for that.

They know they have a problem with the pedal and admitted it.  Of the 5 close friends with these all the pedals have failed.  This is one of the reasons they are not available.

I like some of the features of the motor, but durability and floppy shaft are issues with me.   The prop and case scatch really easy.

If someone wants one 6 months old for 500 off, I would sale mine.

BOAT Wrx in Springfield is a great bunch!

They are helping me by letting me use their pedal in stock and swap them out when I get mine from Garmin!

They have gained a customer for life!

I had a similar problem and found that not all the Garmin techs knew what the deal was.  The foot pedal can lose its connection and has to be "reconnected".  At the time it appeared that only one tech knew how to do this.  It kinda sucks because you must disconnect power which in my case meant unscrewing the foot pedal from the cavity in order to remove power.   This may or may not be your issue.

Here is the procedure:

  • 1 Turn on the trolling motor.
  • 2 On the trolling motor display panel, press three times to enter pairing mode. on the trolling motor display panel illuminates blue as it searches for a connection.
  • 3 Bring the foot pedal within 1 m (3 ft.) of the display panel on the trolling motor.
  • 4 Connect the foot pedal to power using the power cable, or insert batteries to turn it on.
  • 5 Within 30 seconds of turning on the foot pedal, hold until the status LED on the foot pedal illuminates blue.
  • 6 Release .
    • The status LED on the foot pedal illuminates blue as it searches for a connection, then turns off when it pairs successfully with the trolling motor. on the trolling motor display panel changes to green when the connection is successful.
    • Force speed bar may light up during the process

here is big plus for the motor guide tour pro.  even if you lose the servos for some reason, you can still fish because it is still fully cable steer.  might have to wait for parts as you are doing, but you can still fish in the meantime.
