JestersHK Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Made it down yesterday with a couple of my crew. Net up with Tyler @MNtransplant to go fishing in the dark. We started around 7pm I think and I stuck a fatty bow on the jig rod while it was light out. Tyler stuck 2 Walter's while we were wadering up. A trend that would continue in the dark. I fished signature series rainbow X80 from the original batch and it was a catching machine. Had about 20 rainbows and a 20in walter. The boys caught some fish too. I'll let Tyler post his play by play, but let's just say his night was very toothy! We fished till 430 and then slept for 2 hours before getting ready for the tournament at Phil's. CAM is a a great ministry down here and such a worthy cause to come fish. Phil and crew took care of us too with ab great meal afterwards. As for fishing it was pretty tough today for me. Lots of boats and spread out fish. I will say the quality was fantastic. I caught 7 fish over 18in today including a brownie. I finished tournament with 12 fish for 182 inches. I lost to Gunny by 1 inch lol! We could never find a good school of dinks to pick on and I only did as well as I did due to solid fish and an awesome net Man. Tyler was a stud today needing fish. We quickly switched to 2lb 3/32oz white jigs and I didn't throw anything else. Fished low and slow and they were all subtle bites except the brown. Over all a great weekend so far. I think I broke the boys though they are calling it a night and I'm not complaining for once. Johnsfolly, BilletHead, laker67 and 6 others 9

MNtransplant Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Toothy was a good description my friend. 6 walleye in the same outing was a new personal best for me. 4 on the same shadow rap, one on a bucktail, and the other swinging a 606. The shadow rap also claimed a nice looking rainbow. The silver shadow rap has easily been my number 1 bait for warm water fish over the past couple years on Taneycomo. Friday night they wanted 2-3 quick snaps with a 3-4 second pause. The biggest one actually swam away with it after about a 20 second pause while i watched DJ and Rob mess with a big sucker fish next to me.. the tournament was fun as well and for my first time handling a boat in current I didn't threaten any lives and played net man for the 2nd place winner so ill call it a win. A bonus came in the fact that my wife and kids came to visit Lilley's for a few minutes after the tournament and my wife quickly booked us over Labor Day after saying how much she liked the place. nomolites, Seth, JestersHK and 2 others 5

Congrats! Looks like a blast! I caught a walter just a bit downstream from where you were standing on a olive green 3" X-Rap. That was part of my one fish guaranteed fishing trip with @JestersHK. MNtransplant Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 DJ and Rob each had one too so 8 total for Friday night was outstanding. To think I threw 2 back not knowing DJ had a stringer along 🙄🙄 JestersHK and Johnsfolly 2
