Dry run creek and norfolk fishing

I will be staying below norfolk dam this weekend and will be doing some fishing with my boys.  They will fish Dry run Creek, but I would like to wade below the dam.  How has the fishing been there?

Get them kids in DRC!!!   And post some pics of their success please!  @Johnsfollyjust loves pictures...

Covid Killed my last chance to get my daughter back to Dry Run creek prior to her 16th Bday😒. There would have been photos for sure!

Bummer!  They oughta make exceptions for kids in that age range.

That would have been awesome. She did catch her first ever brook and brown trout when we went in 2019. Missed a giant brown that inhaled her jig and spit it out. It will spoil a kid for sure! Just threw in a photo since I know that you and @liphunter like them😅!

I thought that I remember your son with a big beautiful DRC brown trout. Good luck to your kids and posts photos for sure.

I’ve been on the Norfork twice this week. They haven’t turned on water until midday, so there have been plenty of wading opportunities. I fish from a boat and it’s been pretty good.

Went on Sunday and got the slam before the power plant caught fire. The cutty was 17 and got it on a pink san juan worm. Caught a bunch of brook trout in the river, which was a first. They were letting water out from about 1-7 every day, so mornings and late evenings were wadeable, with alot of topwater action at dusk. 

Overall not a ton of ppl were catching high volume, but there were fish to be caught, as always.

@Sam Hargrove Congrats on getting the boys onto some trout! Looks like they had a great time! I took my family there on Saturday before we left Arkansas and headed back to Maryland. Such a great place for kids to fish.
