Yesterday I had 3 break off that shouldn’t have happened.  They were on 2 different setups.  Both have 6# line which has worked well for me for several years.  I had that line on 5 setups and all of it was bad.  It’s only been on them for a couple of months.  I need something better.  I have been thinking about Yozuri hybrid but none is available locally so I would have to order it.

So what is working well and lasts?

Yozuri Hybrid is great. I think Yozuri makes the diameter bigger than most straight fluorocarbon lines for the advertised pound test. In other words, you can use a smaller pound advertised test with Yozuri than other brands.

Seaguar Red Label to me it is the most abrasion resistant.  In the summer i throw a big flutter spoon around docks and it is hell on line with all the cables and going over boat lifts and stuff.  Ive tried a lot of different ones but always end up back with red label.  I found with Pline tactical i would have to change out mid day.  I did pick up some Yozuri 100% and it did ok but seemed to fray pretty easy. Abazx was good but i cant afford a spool of that per day.    All the ones i tested were in 20#

I have fished Yozuri for years. I experiment from time to time - braid, straight fluorocarbon, and right now I am trying out Finatic fluorocarbon because their braid is the best I have found. However, I always come back to Yozuri.

I am referring to the Hybrid.

S. Red label is what it is.  The 10, 12, & 15 are good for a year or more just not the 6.

BPS is out so I ordered it online and having it shipped to the store.

I use 8# or 10# Abrazx  or Red Label on almost all my casting setups including leaders for braid;  I use a heavier 14 or 17# Vanish for trolling leaders and have never had an issue.  I tend to be light on the drag though I think compared to most folks because a big striper or hybrid will break you off right now if you are heavy handed.  I’ve got lots of other ways I can lose fish though...😉.

Seaguar, either Red Label or Invizx. Tried a few others, none were close for what I need it to do. Invizx is definitely softer (not weaker). Red Label reminds me of the original Carbon Pro. That is the FC line I learned on, so it might be why it suits me.

Ran all Invizx until the price got completely out of hand a few years ago.

But...I re-spool quite often. I took something like 4k yds of 6# Red Label to the lake in April.

A couple of friends are big on 7# Sunline. That stuff is like wire compared to Seaguar.

I have 6# red label on a trout jerk bait rod.  I caught a few fish on it and it looks likes it’s been over stretched if that makes sense.   You can see it in the sun light.  I’ve used it for years but this is a new spool.  I wonder if it’s a bad batch.  I got this on that half price sale earlier this year.
