And another thing too! Right here in my living room a pile of cast iron skillets for sale. You might know something about that @Terrierman. 😁 Living rooms are multi functional. 0623211934.jpg

What came first - the cast iron or the felt?

Iron before felt always.  All that work I do to clean, restore and season I don't want to waste. Stacking your skillets is not a good idea unless you have something in between. Less of a chance rust will happen. Not a must but recommended until a good carbon layer develops on your cooking surface.  Depending on where the skillet is on the stack you choose you will receive a complementary  piece of felt or paper towels. it is a crap shoot, roll of the dice or happenstance to see which one you get 🤣.

I agree about the work involved, or for you and I know for me the "labor of Love" needed to rejuvenate this old iron. We have foam pads between our skillets. However, we also have way less that what is found in the Billetheadville vaults😉

Very neat little boat @Daryk Campbell Sr. Looks functional but big question has it been christened with some fish slime?

No slime yet.  Got a couple opportunities in the coming weeks... will report.

I might, but I'll never tell....

I've often thought of building one of the Mouse family boats but never thought it would work for me because of my size.  I seriously considered adding a couple of inches freeboard to avoid the swamping scenario, but I still think a Mouse is too small for what I'm after.  My latest thought is to build a pram---being from the Pacific Northwest, I've owned and fished out of prams before, and I really like the safety/usability of a boat this size--I'm thinking of either an 8 or 10-foot boat.  Whichever I choose will be built using the stitch-and-glue method.

Having said that, I'll probably build a Mouse or two for the grandkids.

I've also considered building a larger hull to replace my jon boat, but then I start thinking about the amount of time involved and the fact that I don't fish enough as it is...

I am very impressed with the boat.   I'm 240 ish lbs, 5'9", no worries about swamping.   I use a double blade kayak paddle.  Put a 36lb trolling motor on it with a homemade lithium battery pack.  I have an elevated seat, and am still very impressed.   1/4 plywood would make it more rigid, but I wanted something I could carry potentially long distances.

That is impressive.  That is all a guy needs to get out and fish.  I built my Rob Roy cedar stripper in my living room.  I am so happy I did not build it in the basement only to learn that I could not get it out.
