I've caught these boys in the salt water and in rivers, but never in the Great Lakes.  Going to have to go up there one of these days and fish for them.

Have a trip planned for Monday 16th. Friends from Missouri flying up to Traverse City Sunday. We are fishing out of Frankfort then will spend a few days on the local rivers and small streams chasing trout. Lots of quality salmon being caught. Many beers will be killed.

I would be interested to hear how your salmon fishing turns out.  Hopefully you all get into them!

I have always fished the Pierre Marquette for kings, always done real well.

Did you fish with a guide, or was it a do it yourself deal?

Hey Quillback ,I went the first time with a guy that had made numerous trips back in 2003 .I have been about 8 or nine times since. Biggest I ever caught weighed about 30 lbs and was 41-42 inches long. All caught on 10 wt. flyrods both during the day and also at night.

Sounds great. We were up that way last year for a funeral but didn't get a chance to fish with all the Covid stuff going on.

Looks like some nice water to fish.

Good luck and put a report up.
