Members GotaFish Posted August 23, 2021 Members Posted August 23, 2021 I have a 2016 utility trailer and a 2013 Dodge Durango. About two years ago the running lights stopped working on the trailer. Brake lights, turn signals and flashers work fine. I figure it was just an issue with the trailer wiring and I would get to it someday. Then the other day my friend borrowed my trailer and the running lights worked great on his Chevy pickup. So obviously the issue is with my Durango. Any ideas where to begin trouble shooting on the vehicle would be greatly appreciated.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Ive had issues like that before and i would start with replacing the plug, mine was just a simple flat 4 so it was quick, easy and cheap
MrGiggles Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Pretty much what Wrench posted, get a test light and start pokin'. Start at the trailer plug. If nothing there, check the fuses. Most newer vehicles have separate fuses for the trailer circuit (if it has the factory tow package) so a short in the trailer won't kill the lights on the vehicle as well. That is the year range of Chryslers with TIPM problems, hopefully that is not your issue but it could be. snagged in outlet 3 1 -Austin
