I was at the river and it was still dark. Air temperature was 50 and the water temperature was 68.   It started slow but picked up around 9 o’clock when the sun got on the water. 14 smallies a couple spotted bass, 3 walleye and a chipmunk.  Those walleye just crush a crank bait.  Big one is 21” and the other two were about 16-17”.  Lost two really nice smallies at the boat.   They just love to go under the boat.  Oh well.

I look down and this chipmunk is swimming towards me and he doesn’t look good so I plucked him out.   He was breathing heavy and soaking wet.   I set them on a big rock on an island in the sun petted him for a little while and let him dry off.  I was going to take him home but when I went back to pick him up again he darted off into the weeds.  he seemed fine.  Weather was beautiful!
