I order drop shot weights from an outfit in AZ. (Southwest custom tackle).  I placed an order a couple days ago and the owner asked if I had any info on TR cause he had a couple buddies coming up to fish this tourney.  I told him about this forum since I don't fish TR much.  Seems like people are coming from all over.  I'm fine with them pouring money into the local economy and getting to experience the Ozarks.

Man that is a long way to haul a boat, but good for them if that's what they want to do.

Buddy of mine ran into a couple of guys from Las Vegas, here to practice for the Big Event at the boat launch.  They had a little boo-boo, launched without the plug.  They got it fixed and into the fog they went.

Saw a couple of guys out graphing in a Tracker, first spot I was at, they came by idling about a long cast distance between me and the bank, they putted around the area for a while, and I pulled up and went down the lake about a mile, and about an hour later, here they come, and they did the same thing, idled by, this time a little closer, graphing.  No big deal, they were on the opposite side of where the fish were, but I wonder if they too are practicing for the Big One.

I was trying to plan some fall fishing so I searched the MSHP regatta site so I didn’t go when a ton of boats would be out. I did not see a regatta permit for this Open.

Champs jersey post reminds me of one day fishing on Bull near a public launch area walking the bank. A fully wrapped boat and truck pulls in and starts prepping to launch. I was walking back to my truck to leave because it was getting busy and the guy in the boat wearing the jersey  hollers"hey where are all the bass at in this lake?" I'm a smart posterior so I replied ," you're the pro shouldn't I be asking you where the bass are? "

Johnny is probably exempt from needing a permit.

It's always comforting to know there are guys out there running around in the fog who aren't even smart enough to put the plug in their boat.

As for the guys in the tracker, I'm kinda overstating the obvious here but you are a lot nicer than me.
