Got out on my local river.  WT was 47, cold and dead calm.   Water is very clear.   I’ll save the drama.   Not one smallie.  Some days I just have the patience to drag a jig or something even though that was probably a better choice.   Caught everything on warts I bought from @rps .    I think I’m first to catch something on his sale items.  3 walleye, 1 sauger and giant drum.  I think it’s a drum.  @Johnsfolly?
They bite and fight just like a red fish.  I had another one on for at least 10 minutes that was much bigger.  But I didn’t want to lose the crank.   If you can past the notion that it’s a drum it’s pretty fun.   After all I let everything go anyway.    Thx @rps!!

I was thinking about you.   Then I realized the reel I was using was yours too!    Remember that left handed you didn’t like?    I love it.  Thx again!

I had forgotten you got that. I guess you have a combo deal. Look at me; I am the new Johnny Morris!

Wait a minute, forget I said that. He buys cheap and sells higher. I seem to do the reverse.

I just noticed. You are grinding that wart. Good on you! Don't do that to the crawlers. They are the delicate cousins.

BTW, you may notice the different hooks. I had a damp box disaster last year, and I went through and replaced all the rusted hooks. I did not scrub the rust marks off the baits. They made them "authentic" colors.

I did notice the hooks.  Yeah I grind them hard.   I used the one that looked like you used it most.  Figured it had some mojo.   I tried the purple one and had a walleye follow and roll on it by the boat.  But he didn’t eat it.

For bass I favor the one you show and the brown variations. For walleye the one you chose and the purple tiger are the go to.

That's a nice drum. They'll stretch your line for sure. They get too much hate for not being a bass. I'm a bit jealous of the sauger and walleye combo. Congrats on the mixed bag of fish Pete! Don't let those naysayers get to you, cuz you can catch fish😉!
