Here is what I do now when I want to go to Taneycomo - GO there no matter what.

In fact, don't find out ahead of time at all.

It ruins things anyways.

Just do it.

Go.

Yes i wrote the text App it's still working.  I disabled the PUSH generation change feature, drove me nuts too :).

Now if you text   "g table"  without the quotes. to  913.270.0360 you'll get close to real time current generation.

Text "s table" without quotes,  you will get scheduled

For a specific day text.  "s table tue"   However,  they only schedule out 24 hours in advance starting at 4:00 pm.  Weekends they schedule out fri, sat, sun, mon.

Same works for Bull shoals "bull" or Beaver "beav"

I just use the app.

The old - disconnected - telephone number was accurate and real time.

The readings on the app are by hand translations and after the fact.

It is snowing and I sure would like to fish in it. Let's check the Taney level. Oh wait.

The app is not working now. Unfortunate.

Is this information I just found accurate ? I do not know. Most would not know.

You have to live on the river now to know exactly what the water is doing in the upper end. Very frustrating.

I tell ya - What was accurate was the phone number - 99.9 percent of the time.

@dpitt - Wondering if you might be able to help me with something I have long wanted to do. Would you happen to know if there are any public historic datasets available of elevation/release/generation?  I'm a programmer, and I have kept a fishing log of my trips to Taney, but until recently I never logged the lake level.  I would like to go back and look up the releases on the days I fished to see if there is any correlation between water flow and what flies the fish seemed to prefer.  Are you aware of any sources for this data?  I poked around on the USACE site but was never able to find it.

You can change the dates here for historical data.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for.  Looks like I can go back to 2007 - so 15 years worth of data.  Be interesting to see if I can spot any trends.

Does anyone know the date the lake flooded real bad - the one that got to Lilley's?
