Champ188 Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Talking about Bama vs. Georgia? Hard to bet against Saban's record vs. former assistants. 5-1 might be skewed by other factors. Shoot, even 10-1 might be affected by outliers. But 25-1? Yeah, that's real stuff. The man is a doggone postseason genius without peer. On the other hand, Georgia has a great team and is capable of winning under the right circumstances. Dominant win over Michigan in every way. I just hope for an old-fashioned, rock em-sock em, smashmouth SEC football game where it is obvious the kids are playing for all the marbles. And that we don't have an officiating crew running around out there with cranial-rectal syndrome. Tennessee got totally hosed out of a win the other night because apparently the entire crew, including the replay officials, couldn't see that the Vols' star running back reached the ball across the goal line before his knee was down. dtrs5kprs, crazy4fishin, grizwilson and 1 other 4
willyfish Posted January 1, 2022 Author Posted January 1, 2022 Barring any covid related issues the bulldogs will win round 2. I think Arkansas is more motivated than Penn st today. I think they will play well.
Bill Babler Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 I wasn't for sure it was a hose job in the fact they ruled his forward progress stopped prior to him reaching out the ball over the goal line. (Runner kind of reached it out as an after thought.) I knew they were going to rule it that way as the side judge was waving his hands even prior to the whistle On top of that I could care less if Tenner ever won another game. rps and dtrs5kprs 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Georgia is favored by 2.5, I still don't believe in Smart vs Saban. Smart will try to do what has been working all year, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Alabama vs Georgia is big brother vs little bro. I'm thinking the fighting Saban's by 2 scores. crazy4fishin and dtrs5kprs 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
willyfish Posted January 1, 2022 Author Posted January 1, 2022 I got Georgia at +145 money line to win the whole thing before the MIchigan game. That was just too good to pass up considering they are now -145 on the money line heading into the Bama game. I don't have to worry about the spread. Georgia is healthier in the secondary now and Metchie is out this go around. It will still come down to line play, it always does.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Big win for the Hogs. WPS. Quillback and Champ188 2
Bill Babler Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 Arkansas without 2 starters and Penn State without 6. what if and it happens all the time your best player gets hurt in a totally meaningless game. That’s why all the opt outs. The question was asked do you want to play in a bowl game? 43 percent of the kids said no. Need to have a championship series 12 teams, in 6 bowls. Reseat the next 3 bowls. That leaves 3 teams. Reseat top team gets a by. With NIL the transfer portal and opt outs there are way to many games. For cripes sakes as bad as Mizzou was they still made a bowl. I think 3 people went. dtrs5kprs 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Guess we have just seen in the Sugar Bowl why you don't play in these bowl games. Total disaster for Matt Corral. Projected as the 10th overall pick and first QB off the board. We will see how bad it is and how his status is on draft day. Really a shame http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Back in the old "national championship by polls" days, the bowl games meant something because the voters rewarded the winners and penalized the losers, as it should have been. I like Bill's idea for expanding the playoffs. Right now, there is too much emphasis strictly on W-L records ... evidence Cincy, who had no business being there. These non-SEC folks can squawk all they want but the South truly does play football on an entirely different level. Big 10 isn't going to produce a much better team than Michigan and they were convincingly defeated by Georgia.
