Smalliebigs Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 MOsmallies tied me up some jigs and all I can say is it’s good to have mad genius friends who are tackle junkies. He tried to match craws that are very prevalent in the water sheds we fish. Finally someone has produced a jig for my home river. Paul you are a darn artist. This is how I continue to pull nice bass from the river consistently because of buddies like Paul 🙂 dtrs5kprs, kjackson, FishnDave and 3 others 4 2
Al Agnew Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 I need to find somebody to pour some jigs for me. I know exactly what I want, down to the jig head shape, wire weedguards, and the exact hook...and NO company produces anything like it. And that's for hair jigs (I'll tie the hair myself) and a different head for swimbait jig heads. (But no company makes a mold for the shape of swimbait head I want.) I've thought about pouring my own, but don't want to take the time for the learning curve. Those jigs look sweet!
Dutch Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Al, depending on how much you want to spend you can buy a blank mold and have have it milled to what ever design you have for your jig. With the mold in hand a guy to pour shouldn’t be hard to find.

Paul also matched the craw we see in our other home river or at least the ones we see there

Al I have 3 different swimbait molds I pour from including a new screw lock head which I’m still forming opinions on. If you would like some to try out just give me a holler old friend and I’ll give you bags lol All of my molds were made for very nice Owner hooks, two are lighter wire and the screw locks are a tad heavier gauge. nomolites 1

Put a double wire weedguard on that bottom one and it would be pretty close to what I was thinking of. And basically, I want Paul's jig heads, but on a 5102 Owner 60º Deep Throat Jig Hook. That's the exact shape of hook I want. I had a bunch of Mitch's jig heads that he had made for me years ago, and I was bending the hooks on them into that shape...but the hook would snap on about every fourth one. Smalliebigs 1
