New Jig Ties

Tired of TV, so I tied up some jigs. 1/8th oz collar-less heads. Olive craft fur tails with olive rabbit zonker strips palmered forward. Ta-dah!

Here's where my boredom took me last night. I forgot I had those tails. It's basically a jig.

I have some craft fur by itself on a black head. Caught some at RR last summer on it. It seems much more supple than bucktail which was my inspiration. I'll dig them out.

Here's another color combo, though I never catch anything on "natural" rabbit.

I've never used craft fur, in the craft stores it has such a "dead" look that I just never tried it. I have used "Bonnie Braid" and Gartside's "Secret Stuff" for similar applications.

Flysmallie, on another forum years ago, a fellow posted about making tails that looked just like that out of shower caps,  he had multiple colors and several kinds of flies tied with them. Sized the tails big and small. I looked for shower caps the very next time we went shopping and then forgot about them when I didn't find one that day.

This is what I used. That jig is a little rumpled, but it did catch a fish at RR.
