That's a chunky one! Yes, it seems like crappies are almost always the first fish willing to play as soon as the ice melts off waters that freeze over. I always look forward to early season crappies! I gave him some quick flyfishing instructions and a fly rod...and he caught his first fish of the year, and first fish on a fly rod. Great start! I caught Bluegills, Green Sunfish, Redear Sunfish, and some really nice Golden Shiners. Several shiners measured 10" or a little more. Ham, BilletHead, bfishn and 2 others 5
