Fishing was good last week during the rain and storms, once the water rose I took a couple days off, went out yesterday afternoon for just a bit to see if I could get any chasers on spinner bait to no avail. With the wind today I reckon it will be a spinner bait or crank bait up around bushes, I’m thinking it may be a struggle. dtrs5kprs 1

Fishing has been good the last two hours of the last two evenings but I do have my new lucky charm (daughter). We have been finding fish in 15 - 20 fow on secondary rocky points however the keeper to nonkeeper ratio is about 25% and the SM to LM/Spot ratio is 90% and 50% are spawned out. 9 on Friday night and 11 last night. Last night I outfished the daughter for the first time but she had the keepers. 1/8 oz Cal. Craw 4 inch Ned. dtrs5kprs, Alex Heitman, big c and 6 others 9

If that spinner bait over the bushes starts happening, that is a fun way to catch them. Top water bite ought to get going soon too. dtrs5kprs and mixermarkb 2

There is a bit of a color line starting up. Could get sporty in a hurry. mixermarkb 1

Yep, every lawn and parking lot with a power pole in it will be my target. On another note at times that can be hard to fish with topwater or a spinner just due to leaf litter. We walked around Campbell Pt. Today and it would have been tough. Just looked like pieces of brown paper sacks torn to pieces floating. dtrs5kprs and Quillback 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Line will get up over a leaf, and then everything goes haywire. In 2011 there was one heckuva big swimmer bite too. Quillback 1

I really wanted to work that topwater walking bait but there was just too much debris. It was tough working running baits too. I did manage two fish on a jerkbait. Nice stain to the water and WT was 62 when we started and 64 when we came off the lake. Visibility was still 3ft or better even with the water color. I did get a hit on my spinnerbait but I missed the fish. we were throwing spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and jerkbaits. dtrs5kprs 1

But no size, and no consistency. I'll look at them again tomorrow, eventually they'll move up. For now, I think the better bite is outside, and way outside at that. Those don’t work in the wind at all, no sir. dtrs5kprs and bobby b. 2
