Checking the USGS data it is slowing coming down  It is only about 10’ up.  I hope we don’t get a bunch of rain.

I don't understand how the "normal" level would be 867 feet. If you look at the yearly lake levels for the past 5 years, it is almost never at that level. Was it established when the lake was first created? Or if you were to average the daily levels for the year it would come out to 867 feet?

That doesn’t mean an average level.  I don’t know how it was determined.  I just know that if it is greater than 867 it is up.  Panfisher may be able to explain it to you as he works for the COE at Pomme de Terre.

"Normal"is certainly not the same as the average.  As straw hat said it is an elevation that is established to allow an impoundment to meet its authorized purposes, whether that be power generation, flood control, water supply, navigation, recreation or whatever else was authorized.  Sometimes noted as power pool, conservation pool, or multi purpose pool (probably the most correct).  Many lakes often have seasonal pool levels or targets as well.

Would it be possible for the COE to get the normal level a lot closer to my house.  $4.00 gas is killing me! 😁

All of this info has been very educational! I just wish I could figure out how to use it to catch more fish! 😁

I am one of those annoying folks who when asked "how is the fishing" replies its GREAT.  Catching could be better though.
